"One of the most robust predictors of life satisfaction is helping others."

-Steven G. Rogelberg

How you feel before going to work and how you feel after finishing your work is influenced by many things: your personality, values, family life, work environment and resilience. The degree of control we feel is different every day.

Who are you? What is your story? And what do you want? Leadership Development is about "taking the lead in your own story".

As a Business Psychologist with 25 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources Performance and Development, I have focused on "people at work" throughout my career. Why? We generally spend the majority of our weekly hours at work. I want to contribute to making your workplace a happy place for you and the people around you. A place where you can accomplish results, build relationships and develop yourself.

About

The origin of "Ida van der Steur - Leadership Development" is my own story. The story of persistence, a great sense of responsibility, critical thinker, courageous as well as apprehensive in making decisions. For many years I raced in fifth gear through my responsibilities, pursuits and roles in my life. I gradually became more exhausted and I was forced to step on the brakes. In my search for "and now what", different methods and mentors crossed my path and slowly the themes in my own story became clear. I realized how my cultural background, family, career and experiences have influenced me. And how elements that initially seemed to be a hindrance turned out to be my unique talents and strengths. This helped me look at all of the possibilities and find a balance between taking action and letting "the process be the process".
